Raptor
Allergens at the molecular level comprise of massive databases of over 4000 individual proteins, with extracts covering an even larger scope and with new allergens constantly being added to the databases every year. Allergens in the various databases are constantly being researched/evaluated for the physical/chemical/biological/immunological properties, along with their characterization into protein families depending on their amino acid sequence, 3-dimensional structure and biological function. Due to the massive volume of allergenic proteins, their individual properties and the complex links between each other, it is near impossible for one to be able to manually analyse large volumes of data pertaining to allergenic substances (extracts & components).
Raptor, which is a cloud-based software developed by MADx, is incorporated into the allergy diagnostics procedure by providing the architectural framework for computing the data obtained from running the MADx diagnostics test system. The Raptor software is a highly robust system that allows the user to visualise the data in an easy-to-understand and coherent manner. The software provides the tools for creating custom reports with a wide variety of in-built formats & structures, thereby providing immense flexibility to the user.
Raven
Raven is an artificial intelligence (AI) powered interpretation guidance system that is developed in collaboration with clinical allergologists and researchers worldwide. It computes the data generated from the test system and provides in-depth analysis with respect to the allergen extracts & components. The interpretation guidance system (Raven) eliminates the need for users manually searching through extensive allergen databases and trying to decipher allergenic properties and finding linkages between the vast array of allergens in question. The guidance system streamlines the entire process and provides the user, key characteristics of the allergens, their potential for causing symptoms (risk stratification), potential cross-reactivity (genuine sensitization Vs. cross-reactive sensitization) and therapeutic treatment strategies available. Thus, the report generated is highly specific for each individual, providing individualised treatment strategies depending on their molecular level sensitization, thereby moving the needle towards the field of precision medicine.
The patient report generated is an extensive and detailed report that provides the holistic analysis of an individual’s allergic status. The report covers the macro-level analysis (total IgE), micro-level analysis (specific IgE against purified extracts) and core level analysis (specific IgE against molecular components), thereby providing the entire allergic picture. The report data in conjunction with the interpretative guidance provides all the necessary information required for a clinician to guide and treat their patients in the most optimal manner possible. Ultimately, the report is a tool that empowers clinicians to bring forth the era of precision medicine by providing individualised therapeutic measures to their patients depending on their molecular sensitization patterns.
Thus, both the Raptor and Raven software work hand in hand, providing a complete one-step solution to the computational analysis (diagnosis) and interpretation (treatment) of specific IgE sensitisations to various allergenic sources and components. Both the software are available for the manual ImageXplorer system and the automated MAX 45k system.
